Mom and I went to the 140 Character Conference in Kansas. It was a great road trip with my mom.
The first night a group of us went out to dinner and Uncle Jerry was there. He’s the organizer Jeff Pulver’s Uncle. Jerry is also a photographer. Sunday came around and everyone had plans. Jerry and I got to talking and we decided it would be a great day to head out and take some pictures. Mom came along for the ride.
It was a fun afternoon and I learned a lot of things that my Canon camera could do. Jerry patiently showed me how to set up shots, what to look for, what the ISO was – and talked about his life. He did things a friend would do. He asked questions, he gave support, he taught me things.
All throughout he was taking pictures. Last night I got an email with five of those pictures. I now know why he is a professional photographer. He caught the love between mom and I on film.
This is Day 6 of 30 days of pictures and stories. Somewhere along the line I hope to carve out what my values, goals and such are. It will take more than 30 days. Time is elusive for all of us. Use it while you have it. Don’t waste it. Visit Jerry at www.thirdeyephotography.com
