Do not be fooled by this bright green piece of hard plastic. It looks simple enough, doesn’t it? It’s curved, you put one foot just under the handle and the other foot under the other handle and you twist. In doing so, you work on your core, your balance, your leg muscles, your arm muscles and your cursing. I started by using both hands to hold onto the counter top. I can now sporadically let go of one hand and twist through one entire song. I have also stopped swearing the entire time I am using it! It’s called the Fitboard.
Dr. Lee recommended it for me because it is not hard on my knees, balance is extremely important as we age and it’s a perfect complement to exercise for those of us that detest winter and don’t want to be outside.
This morning I took my iPad into the kitchen, where this yet unnamed exercise board lives, and watched Christopher Walken dance while I worked out . Walken the walk!
My grandma had a circular thing that I think served the same purpose. We kids would nearly kill ourselves playing on that little disc so I think I can totally understand the whole holding onto the counter thing. Have fun but don’t go too crazy! 🙂
having a blast Beth Ann!
