Wednesday I was 61.  It was a nice day to have a birthday.  I worked.  I saw the move Nice Guys with Keri and Kevin.  I ate at Applebees.  I had cupcakes.  The next day my friend Gigi sent me gluten free cupcakes that were ridiculously delicious.  I had several of those.  I had bread this week.  I drank some diet Mountain Dew too.  It was a week of eating whatever I wanted.  My birthday and all.

Today I feel kinda yucky. Well .. I feel tired, and gouty. I knew it was coming. All that sugar was bound to catch up to me. You see, the choices we make come with consequences. Sugar has a very definite reaction on me. It tires me out. Bread does too. The diet Mountain Dew makes my gout worse. So by having that first cupcake, it kicked off a chain reaction. Just like dominoes – you push the first one, and all the rest of them fall over.
Nothing to worry about — I just get up and get back in the saddle and ride. That’s the beauty of making your own choices — at any given point you can decide to make better choices. That moment is right now.

Life is all about choices and I have to say- I think you make awesome choices! Now, go eat another cupcake, if it makes you happy. Why does life have to be so complex, right?
Thanks Sara!
