Saturday After Crucifixion

Yesterday, Good Friday,  Jesus was killed.  His mother and Mary Magdalene saw him crucified.

I wonder what they were thinking on Saturday.  It must have been a day full of sorrow and grief.  Yet…. didn’t Jesus tell them he’d come back?  They knew he could raise people from the dead.  Did they wonder and hope?

Read The Message Luke 24:13-35.  Imagine being one of those guys!

No doubt they were scared and wondering. In the face of His death I’d wager many didn’t fall back on their teachings or their faith. Like us, when tragedy strikes we are quick to put aside the truths we know in favor of panic and worry.

Heck, I do that myself over smaller issues than death. Sigh.

We should all encourage each other to be strong and have faith.

Thanks for starting the conversation Todd. I’m pretty sure I’d be freaked out. And worried. And scared.

What a thought provoking question. Death is often hard to deal w/ for those left behind. Even know, we are to take comfort in knowing we’ll see our loved one again – but that is often not our focus. I am certainly guilty in that regard.

Anita – I know I am guilty of it too. Imagine if you had been friends with Jesus on that Saturday after good Friday. How hard must that have been? Thank God for the resurrection!
