Last year in December I was working on my goals for 2010. Here’s what I had written down:
- designing websites for individuals that involve history
- attending conferences and speaking at a few
- reaching out to the local community and using social media to deliver the message.
I did those things. I built a website around the history of an old house. I set up a blog and write about the history of the sites associated with the Franklin County Historical Society.
I attended iBlog Conference, and spoke. I attended the 140 Character Conference, and spoke. There have been various miscellaneous small conferences in the state I attended as well.
I am now the Program Associate for North Iowa Community College. That means I help set up and promote continuing education classes – in my local community. I use twitter and facebook to promote those classes.
I’m thinking I’ve batted 1000 on those goals!
Month zero of 2011 starts in a few days. I think I’ll work on goals for next year this weekend. I also think I’ll be even more specific and more grand in the planning!
What are you thinking about for your goals?
Yay, Deb! Congrats on completing all of your goals. How does that success feel?

Better than I thought! I realized that my goals weren’t very big – and this year, look out. I’m going for the big time!
