Metabolic syndrome has run in my family for generations. I’ve made a commitment to end it with me. This involves exercise and diet. It involves saying no when you want to say yes. It involves believing that you deserve to feel good. So what am I doing?
1. using GC Control products from Melaleuca
2. going to the gym at least 3 times a week – I’m taking a class at Franklin Wellness Center for the next six weeks. I’ve slacked off some this summer and have started back up at the gym this month. I did keep walking, participated some in a c25K, and body surfed on vacation.
3. eating properly – and this is the hardest for me. I’m single and used to going out with my friends to restaurants. In the midwest we love to eat! However, I’ve started to shop on the weekend and cook on Sunday so I have my lunches ready for the week. Breakfast at I eat at home – Access bar before workout, oatmeal and protein shake before work. It’s important I stay away from sugar and white flour and bread – they are bad for my body.
4. talk about it. It’s easy to say you’re going to do something and then when you don’t, the only person who knows is you. However, if you tell the world (or your blog) you’ve now shown your intention to more people than just yourself. You find the positive folks, and steer away from the negative ones. We can all use a little encouragement!
