Support your local small business!
Today I approached Cell Tech, the Verizon provider and independent store here in Hampton Iowa. I have already tested the Xoom from Verizon and want to try out the Tab during the 140 Character Conference in New York. The owner and CEO Russ Gibson thought it was a great idea and then suggested I talk to Kimberly, their store manager. In the end, she has the final decision.
At that moment, Kimberly walked in the door! We talked and she also thinks its a great idea. There is a slight dilemma – their store Tab is not activated yet. They are waiting on the paperwork to go through all the channels. Kimberly then said “it’s okay though. Laura just won a Tab and she’ll let you take hers.”
Really? Oh yes – really. I went across the street and talked to Laura – who is now super excited to get her Tab ready for me to use on a trip to New York. She’ll download travel apps, set up twitter and facebook for me, and make other suggestions. She’ll even add an app that I can use to take pictures of the business cards I collect and saves them for me. Friday I’ll spend at least an hour with her getting trained on the Tab.
And get this — that’s all standard procedure for their customers!
Support your local small businesses people. This is just one example of shining customer service at one of Franklin County Iowa’s businesses.

Berry gave me a tablet for Mother’s Day and I had the same experience as you. Laura & Kim greet me with a smile saying, “How can I help you today?” or something similar to that. They are great help.
Thanks Jan – We are so blessed by the staff at Cell Tech and I’m happy to hear it’s not just me!
