Another reason to come to Hampton

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE  September 28, 2010: Hampton Iowa Press Conference

On Thursday, Sept. 30 at 10:00am at the Windsor Theatre, Hampton, Iowa, the Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Press Conference to announce the following things:

1. Band Shell Renovation Fund Raising Ends.

2. Community submits video to “Oprah, come to my Hometown!”

The first week in July, Hampton Iowa and Franklin County began the Band Shell Restoration Fund. This press conference will review the Final Numbers, Update of renovation plans, Continued support of the Band Shell, and the Announcement of the Commemorative DVD’s for the 2010 Municipal Band and the Band Shell Restoration Fund.

Monday, September 27 our community submitted a video to “Oprah, Come to my Hometown!” At this press conference will debut the 5 minute video. The video highlights include; Community re-opens Windsor Theatre as non-profit, Simon Estes Roots & Wings debuts in Franklin County and raises money for student scholarships, restarting the Franklin County Arts Council and Windsor Stage Performances, Our Town, and Restoring the Band Shell. Simon Estes stars and narrates video. The official launch campaign to get Oprah Winfrey to come to Franklin County will kick off with this press conference.

Expected and invited speakers at the conference include City/County Officials, representatives of RDG, Des Moines, Simon Estes, Brian Stevens- Chair of Band Shell Renovation Committee, Jim Davies– Director of Oprah Video, Shawn Dietz- producer of Oprah/Commemorative Videos, Deb Brown- social media/production of videos.

Conference should last about 30 minutes with question/answer time. Interviews and photo opportunities to follow.
