What I Know

Here’s what I know on a Sunday night …..

#blogchat is just a great place to hang out for an hour.  Listen to the experts and not-so-experts discuss various topics.  Visit www.tweetchat.com, sign in with your twitter account and enter blogchat.  The stream will fly by you – and you might have an opportunity to contribute, you’ll for sure learn something and it almost always promises to be fun.  @MackCollier (the man, the organizer of #blogchat) describes blog chat as “A weekly chat on Twitter where friends come together to discuss blogging and learn from each other. The End!”

Just don’t give up.  Whatever goal you are trying to accomplish, just don’t give up.  If you fall down, get up.  If you can’t run, walk.  If you get laughed at, laugh with them.  Just don’t give up.

Smile a lot.  That’s right, show your teeth.  Smile at strangers.  Smile at family.  Smile at friends.  Smile when you don’t want to smile. You just never know who you’ll meet that needs your smile.  Plus, it makes you feel good.

Never stop learning.  One day you’ll see that you’re on the couch watching reruns and you haven’t read a book in ages, or gone somewhere you’ve never been before, or gained 100 pounds and didn’t realize all you do is go to work, eat and sleep. You stopped learning.  Get back in the habit of trying new things, going places, learning.

Put yourself first.  If you are so busy taking care of everyone else, you forget to take care of yourself.  I know.  Make yourself a priority.  It’s ok to be a little selfish.  Before you can give anything, you have to have something to give.  Take care of yourself first.

See a great movie.  I did, The Most Exotic Marigold Hotel for the elderly and beautiful.  Be prepared to enjoy the slow movement, the moments of brilliance, the reasons to travel and the love.   Everything will be all right in the end. So if it is not all right, then it is not yet the end.. That was the best line in the movie. And I went with a friend.

It was a great movie, haven’t stopped thinking about it since we saw it. Was great to be with you and made me think of us as we get older, whenever that day will be. It has made me slow down and smell the roses a little bit more each day.
