I had a friend tell me I was too busy. I’ve been thinking about that.
For many years (I have a few many years periods, it happens when you’re 56) I’ve been a caretaker to someone or something. Jobs, friends, family – it was pretty easy for someone to come to me and ask for a favor. A favor that included me doing something that they didn’t want to do. Designated driver, piles of work, research they were too lazy to do …. you get the idea.
I stopped doing that, for the most part, about a year ago.
Now I do whatever it is I want to do. I work on what I want to work on. I volunteer where I want to volunteer. I sleep when I want to. I travel whenever I can. I, I, I, I, I. I’m living the life of me. Hell yeah, I’m busy! I’ve got a lot of life to live.
The time will come when I’ll know better what it is I really want to do. First I have a lot of failing to do. Trying things to see if I can do it, and then to see if I like doing it. If I fall down, I lay there for a minute laughing, then I get back up and try something else.
Change makes us stronger and better.
I believe we all have something to give, something that when we die people will say “she was really good at _____”. I think it’s my duty to find out just what that is for me.
Do you want to see something happen? Stop complaining that it’s not happening. Start doing something to make it happen. If it happens — great! If it fails, you can say “I tried. What did you do?”
I’m busy for sure. Working, planning, traveling, living. And I like it this way.
Hell, yeah! A standing ovation for you!
I can hear you clapping from here! Thanks Becky. 🙂
Add my clapping and standing ovation. I am proud to be one of happy people that you touch in your adventures of “LIFE”.
May I add I’m applauding for Becky too.
Miss Dazey – the Midwest is full of clappers today! Cause I’m clapping for Becky too. Thank you for the kind comments.
