Sunday Update: Never Give Up

27834138944_4007580971_zLet me tell you, the human brain makes up some amazing stories.  And ever since the internet we’ve all become doctors and specialists.  I thought I had diabetes.  My feet were burning and tingling, I was tired, my eyes hurt.  My dad had it, stands to reason I’d get that too, right?

Wrong.

The good news is I don’t have diabetes.  I’ve been using Melaleuca supplements since 2004 and they’ve done a great job for me.  I know they’ve made my life a lot better, kept my health in check and gotten me through some pretty sick times. I’ve also been using high blood pressure medicine for over 30 years and that tends to leech off essential things like potassium, magnesium and Vitamin D.  And the lack of those things in my system were wrecking havoc on my body.

So I continue with losing weight – and get even more serious about it.  Happily my feet will begin to cooperate once we get the potassium and magnesium levels where they need to be.  For that we supplement and add Sustain Sport (4 electrolytes and low sugar/sodium drink mix from Melaleuca) twice a day.  Vitamin D comes from the sun – so I’ll walk at lunch time and grab some of that and also supplement.  I stopped at Hy-Vee and talked with Troy today about the proper vegetables to consume to increase these missing pieces and he gave me a little booklet that will help as well (anyone can go ask your veggie guy at Hy-Vee!).

More good news is that I have a local doctor, my Melaleuca team, my D.O. and small businesses that are all working together to help keep me healthier.  The internet helps, but it scares too.  Get more than one opinion, use those in the know and do what works for you.
