Franklin County Leads the Way

The State of Now: AgIowa is designed to bring attention to the intersection of agriculture and technology.   Franklin County Farm Bureau, Dupont Pioneer, Field Brand Notes and Latham Hi-Tech Seeds are the sponsors this year.  The topic of conversation will be Agriculture and the speakers will cover how the real time internet has made a difference in their businesses.  Local Franklin County speakers include Larry Sailer, Shannon Latham, Katy Flint, April Hemmes and Deb Brown.

I attended one of these conferences in Des Moines, and was blown away at what we learned and how we could come back to Hampton and use some of the tools they talked about.  This event is about Ag, but I guarantee small businesses will want to come and hear how people are using things like twitter and facebook,” said Jennifer Healy of Franklin County Farm Bureau.

August 17 from 2 to 5 pm at Scheman Building on the Iowa State Campus in Ames is where you can come and participate.  $10 gets you in the door; there will be 15 speakers, snacks and a cash bar and networking to follow.   Visithttp://140conf.com/AgIowa for all the details and to register today.

There’s a lot of interest in how food is produced right now, and we want to make sure people are looking to farmers for the answers.  The technology of now is a great way to do that.”  Katie Olthoff, turkey farmer.
