7 Lessons from the Collaboration Cohort
I led the Collaboration Cohort for Dakota Resources this past summer. In our rush in today’s society to get things done, we miss some important small community-building steps. And they are important – it is what keeps the collaboration moving forward, addressing challenges, learning to work together for the good of all and creating the community you want to live in.
The cohort participants shared the lessons they learned and are taking back into their communities.
The lessons are easy.
- Build relationships before you need them
- Meet people where they are
- Start with small wins
- Make time to align
- Share ownership
- Understand what people are protecting
- Keep inviting people
The secret (and the hard work) is to keep repeating the lessons and teaching others too.
